Where to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day 2015 in Baltimore

If we here at Drink Baltimore had to choose only one holiday to celebrate, we’re pretty sure we’d lean toward St. Patrick’s Day. The weather is perfect - chilly, but not so brisk as to be prohibitive to bar hopping, of course. But more importantly, it’s a day where it is as acceptable to throw back a pint with a plate of eggs at 8 in the morning as it is to sip some (maybe lots of...) whiskey while noshing on corned beef or shepherd’s pie at night. Of course, in a drinking town like Baltimore, there are plenty of places prepared to party leading up to, and on, St. Patrick’s Day. Slainte!

March 1–17
Whiskey Tasting Dinners, food and drink specials and fundraisers lead up to the big day, and on St. Patrick’s Day, the pub opens at 6 AM. (1700 Thames St.; 410-563-6600)

March 9-17
The popular Timonium Irish bar has ongoing events with food and drink specials, live music, Irish-themed trivia nights, Guinness engravings, Guinness Gals with giveaways, complete with an outdoor tent. (2323 York Rd., Timonium; 410-560-7900)

March 10–17
Ongoing events span the week including Tullamore Trivia Night, live music and Guinness Happy Hour. On St. Patrick’s Day, the party starts at noon with a heated tent outside to accommodate the crowds. (616 S President St.; 410-727-5107)

March 13–22
This new speakeasy will be serving up $10 Scotch Eggs, Bangers and Mash and Corned Beef and Cabbage as well as beer and Whiskey specials. (2300 Boston St.; 410-777-5502)

March 13–14
The Canton sports bar will have an outdoor beer garden and will be serving up plates of corned beef and cabbage. (1226 S Clinton St.; 410-342-9105)

March 14
A free all day festival will have live music from Pasadena, Dale and the Z Dubs, Morning Fatty and others. Get the $5 green beer package and enjoy Irish festival foods, a Leprechaun obstacle course and giveaways for the first 500 guests. (34 Market Pl.; 410-727-5483)

The first annual block party will be family friendly and feature food, drinks, and music. (1371 Andre St.; 667-303-3681)

March 15
8 AM–11 AM
Start the weekend with an Irish Coffee with Tullamore Whiskey, green beer, complimentary tater tots and eggs and a $100 cash prize to the most festively dressed. (621 E Pratt St., #100; 443-453-5961)

March 17
The 365 days-a-year music capital of Fell’s Point is hosting traditional Irish band, Dogs Among the Bushes, from 2 PM–1 AM. (1730 Thames St.; 410-276-9866)

8 AM
Pints and Pancakes will feature pancakes, bacon, sausage and a free fixings bar, as well as corned beef and cabbage for $3.17 after breakfast. $2 Guinness pints will be poured, and every hour, pints will raise $.50 until they top out at $5.50. (2706 Dillon St.; 410-276-9899)

Irish breakfast starts at 10 AM with Donegal X-Press belting out Irish tunes beginning at 4. (328 N Charles St.; 410-539-7504)

RA Sushi Harbor East will be offering all day drink specials varying from $2-$14 including green hot sake, Jameson, Kirin/Kirin Light, Midori Margarita, Kuronama Car Bomb and an Emerald Punch Bowl. (390 Lancaster St.; 410-522-3200)

Live music featuring the Shamrogues starts at 4 PM at this Inner Harbor Irish spot. (201 E Pratt St.; 410-483-8968)

Irish breakfast starts at 10 AM, Tilghman Island oysters will be shucked all day and live music starts at noon. (600 E Belvedere Ave.; 410-464-1000)

Specials will include $12 corned beef and cabbage, $6 pints of Guinness, Murphy's Irish Stout and Frey’s Brewing Company’s Inniskilling Farmhouse Red Ale. (22 W North Ave.; 410-244-8447)

This Federal Hill bar will have specials and events running all day long. St. Patrick’s Day drink specials include $3 domestic bottles, $4 Jameson, $4.50 Guinness, Guinness Blonde, Irish Amber, Smithwick’s, Harp and Newcastle and $6 Irish Crushes. Events for the day include a Jameson Ice Luge starting at noon with $4 Jameson, Jameson and 2 Ginger’s basket raffles from 4–9 PM, 98 Rock live broadcasting from 3–7 PM, a live performance from the Teelin Irish Dance company from 7–7:30 PM and live music on the second floor from 7:30–10:30 PM, featuring The Unofficial. (1439 S Charles St.; 443-682-9141)
