Canton Waterfront Park has become a newer home to multiple popular events and festivals in Baltimore, from WTMD’s relocation of first Thursday concerts this year to the sell-out seafood festival. Now, an inaugural
Baltimore Craft Beer Festival is on the horizon, and we’re fairly sure that sampling local brews on the waterfront while surrounded by brightly colored falling leaves is one of the best ways to spend an autumnal Saturday afternoon in the city.
On October 24, over 30 breweries will descend on the park to offer samples of their beer alongside vendors like Salazon Chocolate Co. offering artisanal chocolate, The Art of Drinking with hand-painted glassware, and Bohtography with Baltimore-themed prints. Of course, no boozy Baltimore festival is complete without noshes nearby, so some of the top food trucks like BrickNFire, Smoking Swine, Gypsy Queen, and Pie Time will be in attendance as well. And to round things off, Chris Diller, Big Hoax, and Greasy Hands will be set up to provide the musical backdrop while you get your drink on.
Plenty of well-known brewers, like Flying Dog, Heavy Seas, Evolution, and Union Craft, will be well-represented, as will newer names like Monument City and Jailbreak. However, this is the perfect opportunity to sample from smaller breweries like Independent Brewing (brand new in Bel Air), Mully’s Brewery, and Red Shedman.
Feel like being non-mainstream with your drink sampling?
Nepenthe Homebrew is sponsoring a harvest ale competition that attendees can sample for an extra $10. If you’re an ambitious homebrewer, you can also enter the contest through the event’s
website.
Tickets are tiered with a VIP ticket that offers early (noon) access to the festival and the opportunity to try small-batch harvest ales ($55), a general admission ticket that can enter at 2 PM ($45), or a general admission ticket with 3:30 PM entry ($35). All tickets include unlimited samples.
Proceeds for the event will benefit Strong City Baltimore and MD Brewer’s Association and all tickets can be purchased here.
