It's All Fun and Games for a Great Cause at Baltimore Playworks' Soiree for Play, Nov. 8

This year, Baltimore’s Playworks will be hosting their Soiree for Play at the Baltimore Museum of Industry. The quirky, yet classy, annual fundraiser builds awareness and raises funds to support Playworks’ important work in some of Baltimore’s neediest schools throughout the year.

Since 2005, Playworks has operated in Maryland helping to reduce bullying, conflict, attendance and tardiness issues, and a wide range of discipline-related problems through creative use of play. Helping to make students leaders and problems solvers, Playworks currently operates in 20 Maryland schools, positively affecting the lives of over 20,000 children each school year. To learn more about Playworks and its impact on Baltimore schools, visit www.playworks.org.

This year’s “cocktail recess” will feature a themed menu of elevated-cafeteria-style passed hors d’oeuvres like grilled cheese wedges with tomato soup shooters, sliders with tater tots and mini tacos alongside favorites like Maryland crab dip, charcuterie and cheese selections, and a host of mediterranean style dips, crostini, and bruschetta.

While the theme of the food may be reminiscent of childhood, no soiree would be complete without some adult beverages. Union Craft will be on hand with local brews, alongside others pouring vino and shaking cocktails.

In line with the playful environment of the evening, recommended attire is “Cocktails and Kicks.” Don your best dress or suit along with your favorite sneakers so you can participate in some of the planned games (or just be a lot more comfortable on the dance floor).

The Soiree takes place from 5–8 PM on Sunday, November 8. Tickets for the event at $125 for General Admission and $75 for teachers and educators. All tickets are available here.
