Summer and spring are the typical wine-tasting seasons in Baltimore when we envision being out in the warm air, sitting with picnic blankets, and enjoying local music.
However, Maryland Wineries Association has transformed the standard wine-tasting scenario with its
4th Annual Winter Wine event on
Thursday, January 21, from
6–10 PM at the
B&O Railroad Museum (901 W. Pratt Street).
With samplings from over fifteen Maryland wineries offering sparkling, red, white, and dessert wines, the event will bring wine tasting inside with the same entertaining ambiance as the summer festivals with live jazz and passed hors d’oeuvres.
Additionally, the historic museum can be toured while sipping wine, and Al Spoler, notable local wine expert and host of WYPR’s “Cellar Notes”, will be showcasing his picks for the event.
Tickets are $65 for the “All Aboard Roundhouse Tasting” (7–10 PM) and $80 for the “Sparkling Wine Reception + Roundhouse Tasting” (6–10 PM). For the VIP Pre-Reception from 6–7 PM, ticketholders will have the opportunity to get to know Maryland’s best traditional and non-traditional sparkling varietals and learn about méthode champenoise. Tickets for the VIP Reception are limited, so act fast. All tickets are available
here or by calling 410-252-WINE.
